From: WRmistyRW@aol.com Author's Note: Hey, this started out as an AAMRN but it got twisted up into this weird little story. It doesn't really make sense so I might do revisions later. Disclaimer: Sadly, I don't own anything in this story...just the idea... Don't Want to Lose you Now by Miyu Ash glanced over to the left of his sleeping bag. Sleeping peacefully was his companion, Misty Kasumi Waterflower. Her dark eyelashes were pressed lightly against her creamy skin and they cast dark shadows under her eyes. Her tulip pink lips were slightly parted as she breathed evenly. Ash sighed. She looked so beautiful, especially under the shadows of the moon. His feelings for her were indescribable yet he felt as if he could express everything to her...if he had a chance. He tiptoed over and put his arm around Misty's shoulders. The girl heaved a small sigh which startled Ash a bit. "Misty..." he whispered. Misty rolled over unexpectedly, and Ash removed his hand. He sighed and then went to sleep in his sleeping bag. "Where are we now?" Ash asked, uncertain. "Dummy!" Misty scolded, whapping the back of his head with her palm. "Don’t you see? This is Cerulean! I’m back home." "Oh yeah, it does look familiar," Ash decided. The two stood there, looking off into the city. Brock and Pikachu awaited for them to make a desicion. Ash frowned. "What’s all the fuss?" Suddenly, a crowd stamepeded over. A girl with bouncy hair shouted, "This way to the grand event!" Misty shrugged and pulled Ash and Brock behind her as they followed the crowd. They led them to a gigantic Olympic sized pool and the three beautiful Sensational Sisters were on the perch of the diving board. "Like, thank you everyone, for, like, being here today!" Lilly shouted. "Like, this means so much to us!" Daisy added. "Now for, like, our main event! The Sensational Sisters Water Ballet! With, like, the special guest, Gary Oak from Pallet Town!" "Gary?" Ash questioned. "Shhh! I want to watch this!" Misty said. Gary climbed the ladder to the diving board and bowed to the crowd. "Thank you everybody for coming to see our water ballet. I will be doing the special effects for this wonderful event!" "Gary Oak, he’s so dreamy!" a girl beside Misty crooned. "GARY! GARY! GARY! GARY!" the crowd erupted with cheers. "Puh-leeze," Ash snorted. "This will probably be the worst show ever." "Shut UP!" Misty screamed at him. "This has my sisters in it so don’t you dare insult it!" Ash cringed back and kept his mouth shut. "After this, we will like, hold a raffle!" Violet said. "Winner gets to spend a day with Gary in the Cerulean Gym!" The crowd cheered and many girls fell over. Ash rolled his eyes. "How fun." "WHAT ABOUT THE GUYS?" Brock shouted. "Do we get to spend the day with the..." "Shhh!" Misty said, covering Brock’s mouth. "They are not supposed to know that we are here!" Daisy heard Brock but didn’t know that it was him. "Yes, boys get to spend the day with like, the sister of his choice!" "And, like, now for our ballet!" ************ "I thought that was so beautiful!" Brock said with a red face. "Anything that involves beautiful girls is beautiful to you," Ash replied. "I’m hungry, let’s go get something to eat." "Food, food, food!" Misty said angrily. "That’s all you think about. Let’s go do the raffle!" "Aww, do we have to?" Ash groaned. "If you win and don’t want your prize, you can give it to me," Brock said hopefully. Misty walked up to the raffle holder and got a ticket. "Do you want to spend a day with Gary?" Ash asked, blinking. Misty smiled. "Not really," she responded, much to Ash’s relief. "But I’m glad to be in Cerulean again after a long time. Plus, I’d thought you would be sort of happy if I left you alone for a while." Ash remained silent. "I wouldn’t really mind..." he mumbled under his breath. But Misty didn’t hear. *********** "Like, the winners will soon be announced!" Daisy called. "Like, for our third place winner, we have like, ticket number 764!" Lilly said. "Third place will receive a Staryu!" "Me! I got it!" a little boy shouted with glee as he ran up to claim his prize. "Awright! My first water pokémon!" "And like, for our second place winner, we have ticket number 14!" Violet said. "And that lucky person will like, receive, like a free admission to like, a Cerulean Sister Water Ballet Show!" "OH OH OH! MEMEMEMEMEME!" Brock exclaimed as he practically jumped out of his seat. "You bought a ticket?" Ash asked. "Oh man." Brock ran up to the stage and gazed into Violet’s face. "I rather spend a day with you, lovely one." Violet shrank back and threw the free admission at him. "Like, Daisy, can we like, move on?" Daisy sweatdropped. "Like, of course, Violet. And finally, for our first place winner! ..." "Seel, seel!" Seel exclaimed as it clapped its flippers. Ash peered over Misty’s shoulder and saw her numbers. 82, please don’t be 82, he prayed. "Like, wow! It’s number 82!" Daisy announced. "Please come up you lucky winner!" Ash sighed. My praying never seems to work, he thought to himself. Misty bounced up from her chair and walked slowly up the stage. The sisters all gasped. "Like, it’s baby sister Misty! Like, how are you?" Misty sweatdropped. "Fine." "Wow, Misty! You are like, SO LUCKY! Like, spending a day with, like, Gary Oak! That’s just like, wow!" "Hehe..." "Like, he’s the cutest boy from Pallet town!" Lilly squealed. "Wow! Our little sister and Gary Oak!" Misty didn’t look as excited as her sisters. "Like, Misty, what’s wrong?" Lilly asked. "Like, stupid Lilly! She's probably, like, in shock right now!" Daisy told her. "Well, we should celebrate!" Misty looked at the floor and in her hand, she crumpled up the ticket. *********** "Aw, Lilly, do I have to spend a day with her?" Gary complained. "Like, what's wrong with Misty?" Lilly aked angrily. "She's my little sister, and, like, I want you to treat with with respect." "But she's friends with that loser Ash!" Gary pointed out. "That, like, can be arranged," Lilly replied coolly. "I think you'll find my little sister, like, more interesting that you think." "I better," Gary said gloomily. "But I still don't understand why I have to be part of the prize." "Because, Gary, you're like, the ONE," Lilly argued. "All the little boys, like, want to be you, and all the girls want to be WITH you." "Well true, I do have the charm," Gary admitted. "Which is what, like, took my breath away when I first, like, saw you," Lilly giggled. "But Gary, you know I'm too old for you. That's why I think this is like, a wonderful chance to meet the youngest sister of Cerulean." "But she's not even pretty!" Gary protested. "Looks aren't everything!" Lilly told him. Gary looked at Lilly oddly. "Okay, maybe looks are EXTREMELY important," Lilly agreed. "But Misty, like, makes up for that, trust me." "You better be right," Gary warned. "I am. I should know my little sister, right?" Lilly said. "Anyways, you take care of Misty and I'll take care of Ash, okay?" "I'm doing this for you, remember that," Gary grumbled. "I will keep that in mind." *********** "Okay, so what do we have to do all day?" Ash whined. "I have nothing to do here in Cerulean!" "Oh stop whining, Ash!" Misty told him. "You can go see the Water Ballet with Brock. I'm sure I can get you free tickets. They are my sisters, after all." But Ash really wasn't worried about being bored. He was worried about Misty. He didn't want her to spend a whole day with Gary Oak, his life-long foe. Gary wasn't the right type for her, he decided. "Ash, go have some fun, okay?" Brock said impatiently. "Pika!" Pikachu agreed. "In Cerulean?" Ash exclaimed. "There's nothing to do here. Absolutely nothing." He punctuated this with a loud, long sigh. "Well, at least you won't have me to bug you, right?" Misty asked softly. "Here's your chance to finally do something without me constantly annoying you." Ash was about to protest when he stopped himself. He couldn't tell Misty how he felt about her. That would surely ruin the "friendship" they had now. Friends...Ash thought to himself. What have I possible got to lose? Looking at Misty who was busy twindling her thumbs, he thought, Nothing. I have absolutely nothing to lose. So why can't I bring myself to tell her? Would it make things easier? Misty looked at Ash with her large blue eyes. "Well you have all evening to decide what you want to do," she told him. "I don't get to spend a whole day with Gary until tomorrow." One whole evening...Ash moaned to himself. One whole evening to think about the dilemma I'm in... "Ash, is there anything wrong?" Misty asked in concern. "Fine, I'm fine," he reassured her. "Look, why don't we go swimming or something? This is Cerulean, after all." "GIRLS! IN BIKINIS!" Brock shouted happily. "I'm with you!" Misty giggled. "Okay. First, let's unpack our things in my house. Then we can go swimming in the gym, okay?" "Sure," Ash agreed. "Hey, Misty. Will your sisters be there?" Brock asked eagerly. "Um, if they are, I'll be sure to warn them..." she replied, sweatdropping. "Whatever that means," Brock grinned, picking his things up. **************** "Like, Misty, what are you doing?" Violet screamed. "Um, I thought we were staying here..." Misty replied, shrinking back a bit. "Um, no!" Daisy hollered in rage. "Like, no brats allowed here! Like, go find somewhere else to stay, okay? We are like, having visitors tonight, and like, I do NOT want them to see something...er..." "Like, not beautiful, okay?" Violet finished. She was always the more candid one. Misty couldn't conceal her hurt. "Well, where should I stay, then?" "Like, SOMEWHERE ELSE, okay? I have no time to like, help you!" Violet growled, annoyed. "Look, this is my house, too!" Misty screamed back. "How come I'm not welcomed in my very own house?" "Because, like, you don't belong here!" Violet answered in fury. She seemed very frustrated. "Now, like, get out before I, like, get VERY angry!" "Oooo, I'm so scared!" Misty screamed, her face burning off her tears. "I don't want to stay here anyways! Come on guys, let's go!" She grabbed Ash and Brock, making sure the doors slammed loud enough. "Violet, like, that was sort of harsh," Daisy told her sister. "Like, I know," Violet replied in a sad tone. "I...I just, like, can't help it..." "I, like, know how you feel," Daisy sighed. "I just like, wish we could tell Misty... it would like, make things so much easier..." "Like, Daisy, you know we can't," Violet said. "It would be too much of like, a burden to her. She's like, our baby sister. Like, we're supposed to keep her happy." "Like, I don't think she's very, like, happy right now," Daisy pointed out. "Like, oh well. There's always like, tomorrow." "Like, that's what they all say." was Daisy's reply. **************** Misty was angrily leading the way to the nearest hotel. "I can't believe it!" she said grimly. "My own house...kicked out of it!" "Misty, it's okay," Ash tried to comfort her. "Okay, you know what, Ash?" Misty said, her face twisted. "Just, leave me alone! You have no idea what it feels like to be treated like DIRT! You spoiled only child!" "I know what it feels like to be treated like that! Do you think I want to be here with everyone admiring Gary and not me?" Ash shouted. "Ash, that's so like you. And you call Gary the arrogant one." Misty refused to listen to any more words for Ash. She stormed into the hotel and pounded on the bell. The manager came gliding out of his office. "Yes?" "Two rooms!" Misty demanded. The manager managed to smooth things out with his good manners. "That would be on the house for you, Mrs. Waterflower." "MRS. Waterflower?" Misty yelled. "Do I look old enough to be married yet?" The manager squinted his eyes. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry. You looked familiar." "Mrs. Waterflower was my mother," Misty told him. "I'm Misty." "Oh yes, aren't you the sister of the Sensational Sisters?" "No," Misty replied. "The Sensational Sisters are the sisters of Misty the Mighty. I want to be known for me. Not some stupid sister of the Sensational Sisters." "Oh yes, you're the fourth one, aren't you?" the manager asked. "No. I'm the runt," Misty said sarcastically. "Can I please have the keys?" "Certainly." The manager handed Misty the keys which she snatched away angrily. "Have a good stay." "Don't worry," Misty grumbled. "I'm sure I will." ************** "Misty, please come swimming with us!" Ash begged. "You need to relax." "Don't tell me what I need!" Misty snapped, folding her arms. "And I said no a thousand times already." "Stop exaggerating, Misty," Ash said. "Now come on!" "Fine!" Misty reluctantly gave in. "But not because I want to. You're just annoying the hell out of me right now." Ash patiently waited outside her room as she got changed. When she came out, she was wearing an over-sized shirt to cover her bathing suit. "Now come on," she said. "Let's get a move on." "Oh boy! Girls!" Brock repeated over and over until they got to the gym. Misty's pace began getting slower and slower as they neared the gym. When they got to the big doors, she pushed Ash in front of her. "You go in first." Ash uneasily opened the door and called, "Hellooo?" "Like, hello and welcome to the Cerulean Gym!" a familiar voice welcomed them. "That voice is just so charming!" Brock remarked. "Ahhh, bliss! Helloooo, Violet, my lovely princess!" "I can't tell them apart," Ash mumbled. "WHAT?" Brock shouted. "Violet's voice is the deepest one of of the three. Lilly has the playful one and Daisy has the educated one." "I see no difference," Ash responded. "Educated, my ass," Misty snorted. "They all have the brain of a..." "What?" Violet asked as she appeared. "Like, what is my brain like?" Misty's face went red. "Nothing, Violet." Violet frowned a bit but had more important things to worry about at the moment. Such as Brock who was slobbering all over here. "Like, I assume you are all, like, here to swim, am I, like, right?" "Hehe, you're more psychic than Sabrina..." Brock quickly said. "Um, like, that's nice," Violet tittered. "Okay, like, this way." "Violet, I know where the pool is," Misty told her. "You can stay here." "Misty, like, I'm sorry I yelled at you," Violet apologized, casting her eyes down. "Like, I don't know what got over me." "I'll tell you what got over you!" Misty screamed. "I'm not good enough for you. I never was and I never will. I know I was never as beautiful as any of you but I sure have my qualities! But you... you superficial girls...never seemed to see that in me! Neither did anyone else in the stupid town! In fact, not a lot of people knew about me! If they did, I was the runt, the loser, the ugly one. That's why I left this town and never wanted to go back!" Ash, Brock, and Pikachu were a little astounded at Misty's rantings. They knew she felt out of place, but she never expressed it so much. They always thought that she was proud to be who she was...not jealous. She did run away, after all. Violet, however, took this on to a different approach. "Like, Misty, it's not really my fault that you weren't, like, born beautiful. Like, I never ASKED for a plain sister." Brock and Ash were even more astonished at these words, whereas Misty felt hurt and angrier than ever. "I'm not blaming you!" she yelled. "I am not, did not, and will not! And I don't care if I'm plain or not. YOU do. You just worry so much about the reputation of ther Cerulean Gym and the Sensational Sisters. But I'm here to tell you not to worry. I won't tell ANYONE that we're related." Misty ran out of the room, maybe from rage, maybe from the hurt. But she ran out, nevertheless. Violet couldn't take back what she said and she didn't have the courage to run after her. Instead, she chose to be even more harsh. "She's so sensitive," she said as she shook her head. "I pity her." "How could you be so heartless?" Ash asked her quietly. "You're her sister. Her OLDER sister. She looks up to you and you insult her like that." Violet didn't speak. She knew this all along yet disregarded it guiltily. All she did was turn away coolly and said, "It's not my fault." ****************** Misty splashed in the water a bit and went under. She let the coldness of the water engulf her and let the depth of the water swallow her up. Who was she? She was no one. With no identity...only a name. She had no tears. She was in them, swimming and rolling around them. "Misty?" She heard her name. Were they calling her? Or were they only calling for her body that they tortured so relentlessly? Oh well, she might as well swim back up to the surface and answer. "Yes?" "Like, hello Misty." Misty smiled. There was hope yet. This one had not treated her badly today. Not yet, at least. "Hello, Lilly." Lilly gave Misty a stunning smile. "Like, how is my little sister?" "She's doing fine," Misty replied, going under water. Then, she popped back up again and stared at Lilly. "Are you, like, excited about tomorrow? I mean, you, like, get to spend a day with, like Gary Oak." Misty sighed. "I dunno. I guess the only male companionship I have ever received was from Ash and Brock. Well, Brock acted as a more brotherly figure." Lilly widened her eyes for a second and then shook that away. "What about, like, Ash?" Misty blushed. "Well, he's annoying sometimes." Lilly hicupped. "Like, what about other times?" Misty made sure nobody was around to hear. "Lilly, can I trust you?" "I'm your sister," Lilly replied, her face getting a little frazzled. "Of course." Misty didn't notice her sister's sudden change of expression. "Well, I think he's sort of cute..and well, I dunno." "Do you, like, LIKE him?" Lilly asked, her face agog. "I guess, sorta," Misty replied. Her voice was barely audible. Then she swam underwater, trying to get all her humiliation off. Lilly grumbled. "That can be taken care of." ****************** "Okay, Violet, this, is like, serious," Daisy screamed, shaking her sister. "We, like, need to tell her before she starts, like, plotting revenge or something!" "Like, calm down!" Violet pleaded. "Okay, like, how will we be able to tell her? Wouldn't this, like, ruin her day with, like, Gary?" "Like, I think this is more important than spending a day with Gary, okay?" Daisy snapped. "Why don't we get, like, Lilly's input?" "Like, fine! LILLY!" Violet shouted. Lilly came walking over. "Like, what?" "Okay, like, Lilly, we need your input on something," Daisy said. "Like, do you think Misty is enthusiastic, like, at all about spending a day with like, Gary Oak?" Lilly looked at the ground and then looked brightly into Daisy's eyes. "Oh, yes! Like, I just finished talking to her, and like, she was very excited." Daisy was disappointed while Violet raised an eyebrow at Daisy. "Like, I always thought she was attached to that, like, Ash boy," Daisy said. "Like, no! She, like, said he was, like, annoying!" Lilly told them. "Well, is she, like, denying it?" Daisy tried. "Well, like, she asked if she could, like, trust me," Lilly said. "I think, she like, meant it." "Well," Daisy sighed. "Like, I suppose we can wait until after she, like, spends a day with Gary." Lilly blinked, but didn't say a word. ****************** "RRRRGGGHHH!" Ash shouted as he threw an empty pokéball at the wall. It dropped and landed in a pile of other pokéballs. Brock came out of the shower and shook his head. "Today's the big day, huh?" "I have NO idea..." Ash threw a pokéball at the wall again. "What you are..." Another one. "Talking about!" Brock winced. "I meant, today's the day Misty spends with Gary, right?" Ash stopped throwing pokéballs and threw himself onto the bed. "Yeah, so?" "You're upset, aren't you?" Brock asked. "You really like her, don't you?" "Geez, Brock, don't you think of anything besides girls?" Ash asked, slapping his forehead. "Yes, in fact, I do," Brock replied. "But it's quite obvious that you think this friendship with Misty is more than you bargained for, am I correct?" Ash sighed and mumbled something incoherrent, but Brock knew what he said, anyways. "I thought so," Brock said. "Don't tell her, okay?" Ash said. "I'm not like you. I don't express it full heartedly." Brock grinned. "Don't worry. I know how to handle loooooove." Ash groaned. "But Brock, what should I do?" Brock began trying to look professional. "Well, according to everything you say about Gary, I would have nothing to worry about." "But that's just my OPINION," Ash reminded him. "Remember, what I think, not nessecarily everyone does." "That's a first one from you," Brock laughed. "I wouldn't worry, though." "You wouldn't," Ash mumbled. "But I do." There was a knock on the door. "Come in!" Brock called. It was Misty. She rushed in, breathless. "Today's the day," she gasped. "Man, am I nervous. A whole day with Gary Oak...that's just nauseating." Brock shot Ash a look. "I just can't bring myself to go," Misty continued. She threw her arms around Brock and wailed, "And my sisters are looking for me! HIDE ME!" "Misty!" the voice of a Sensational Sister called. "Ahhh, that's Lilly!" Brock sighed, his face getting red. Seeing that Brock wasn't about to do anything, Misty turned to Ash. "Ash...please... I don't want to spend a day with Gary.." Ash was grinning to himself. "Okay, hide in the closet!" Misty rushed into the closet, but in a frenzy, she accidently opened the door that led out of the room. She inevitably bumped into Lilly, who was looking for her. "Like, Misty! There you are!" Lilly exclaimed. "Gary, is like, looking so forward to this!" "He...he is?" Misty asked. "Like, duh!" Lilly said. "And, like, you're still wearing these CLOTHES? Like, NO! Here, let me, like, dress you, okay?" "I'm not a baby anymore!" Misty shouted. "I'll dress myself. I think I'm perfectly capable of that." With that, she walked to the bathroom and slammed the door. "Oh this is like, so exciting!" Lilly exclaimed. "Baby Misty is actually, like, DATING someone!" "Date?" Ash asked nervously. Lilly snickered. "Like, duh! You know, Ash, you should get a girl, too! And like, Gary, he's like, PERFECT for Misty! They make, like, such a, like, CUTE couple!" Ash was looking down and fiddling with his cap. "Well, I don't know about that." "Like, of course you do! It's like, so obvious that they are, like, SOUL MATES!" Lilly squealed. "I'm ready!" Misty called. She came out. Although she wasn't dressed in anything special, the clothes were different from her everyday clothing. She was wearing a black tube top, a short red skirt, black shoes, and her hair was let down. "Okay, I want your candid opinion. Does this look really bad?" "NO!" Lilly, Ash, and Brock said at the same time. "Misty, like, you look GREAT," Lilly said, with a tear in her eye. "Like, baby Misty is grown up!" Misty rolled her eyes at the name. "Well, I supposed I should get a move on. Where's Prince Charming?" "Right here, Cinderella," a voice replied. It was Gary. Misty glanced over and saw that Gary wasn't wearing anything special for this occasion. "I'm ready to have fun.." she began sarcastically. "And I'm ready to make your day." came her surprising response. ************ "Are they having fun?" Ash asked Pikachu. "Pika," Pikachu replied, shrugging its chubby shoulders. "Aw man... I've been following them and all they have been doing was shopping! I can't believe I'm actually putting up with this." "Piii," Pikachu sighed. "Maybe I should have gone with Brock to the water ballet," Ash decided. "But it's too late now." "Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed. "Do you think she's enjoying this?" "Pi! Pika!" Pikachu warned. "Oh right, get down!" Ash quickly dove under the bushes as Misty and Gary came out of a store. "Are your arms tired?" Misty asked Gary, who was carrying at least 23 bags. "Nope," Gary replied, sounding strong. "This is a good workout for me. And I must say, you have excellent taste." "Wow, nobody has exactly said that about me before," Misty said. "Well then people are blind," Gary told her. "Would you like to go to another store?" "Nah, I think that's enough shopping for today," Misty said. "Thanks for paying, Gary. That meant a lot to me. I mean, I must have spent over 300 dollars." "No problem!" Gary replied, smiling. "I just charged it. No big deal. How about some ice cream? It's on me." Misty giggled. "Gee, I didn't know I'd have so much fun today. You're just full of surprises, Gary Oak." Gary beamed. "Yup, that's me. Now shall we?" He somehow managed to shift the weight of 23 bags to one arm because he extended the other. Much to Ash's amazement, Misty hooked hers into his. Misty...Ash thought. I don't want to lose you to this jerk...please don't go with him.... "Like, are you doing some spying here?" Ash spun around and saw three angry sisters staring down at him. "Okay, like, I want to get this straight right now," Violet said angrily. "Nobody, like, NOBODY, spies on my little sister." "I wasn't spying!" Ash denied. "Like, yes you were," Daisy supported Violet. "Like, you are coming with us!" Even after many protests from Ash, Violet managed to drag Ash away. "Like, Lilly, why don't you keep an eye on the two love birds, okay?" Daisy suggested. "Meet us back in the gym in three hours, okay?" "Like, okay!" Lilly agreed happily. "See you there!" "Let go of me!" Ash shouted. "Before I scream for the police." "Like, you better not!" Violet scolded. "Because, like, we have something to tell you. And like, it is very very VERy important." "What could be possibly the GREATEST importance to me?" Ash asked. He struggled a bit more, but Violet held tight. "Look, it's like, about Misty, okay?" Daisy said. Ash kept his mouth shut. ************* "Okay, like, our mother died a little after Misty was born," Violet began. Daisy, Violet, Ash, and Pikachu were seated around the gym arena. Daisy had closed the gym for the day and Violet had unplugged all the phone lines. Obviously, this was of the greatest importance. Ash was impatient to hear the story. Especially if it was about Misty. "Yeah, yeah?" "Well, like, Misty never got to know her that well," Violet continued. "Like, she didn't even know what our mother was LIKE or what she even looked like." "And our father was like, so depressed that he, like, burnt all her pictures. He, like, didn't want any more memories," Daisy added. "He believed that our mother, like, died of depression." "But you see," Violet said. "Daisy and I are, like, the oldest. We knew our mother very well. Lilly, however, was, like, always with our grandparents. She, like, never got to know mom either." "When, like, our mom died, our father, like, blamed Misty for everything. What's even more amazing, is like, Misty looks exactly like our mother," Violet explained. "That's why that manager called Misty Mrs. Waterflower!" Ash exclaimed. Daisy and Violet exchanged expressions and giggled. "Like, yeah! Anyways, unlike our mother, who was, like, absolutely beautiful. She was like, gorgeous. Misty, was like, no comparison. We always liked to taunt Misty about how, like, plain she looked. Of course she like, never knew she was, like, competing with a faded memory." "Also," Daisy added. "Like, we were sort of, like, believing our father about like, how Misty was the cause of Mother's death. Like, maybe she was, like, putting up with too much stress or something. The sadder part of, like, this story, is like, our father committed, like, suicide, like a year after, like, our mother's death." At this point of the story, Violet, who was usually very composed, burst into tears. "Like, it was so sad!" Daisy gave her sister a hug and could barely go on with the story. "And like, we laid all the blame, like, on Misty." "Well you guys ought to tell her!" Ash told them. "All these years she thought you guys were torturing her out of spite." "We, like, were going to tell her. Honest!" Daisy said. "But, like, we wanted this day to be, like, special for her. We, like, heard that she, like, really liked this Gary kid." "From who?" Ash asked, a little suspicious. "Like, Lilly, of course!" Violet exclaimed, a little happier. "She, like, said she talked to Misty, and like, Misty really liked Gary." "But Misty told me that this day was going to be nauseating," Ash said. "That's odd." "Well, like, maybe you were confused, or something," Daisy said. "Anyways, let's like, find those two lovebirds right now. I think it's like, time we told Misty." "Me too," Violet agreed. *************** "Misty!" Ash called. "Misty!" Ash, Daisy, and Violet were running towards Misty and Gary. They were finishing up their ice cream. "What?" Misty asked. She seemed a little annoyed that they were interrupted. "Misty, we, like, have something to tell you," Daisy admitted. "Well, I'm sort of busy right now!" Misty snapped. "Can this wait?" Gary was smirking. Don't want to lose you now...Ash thought. Please Misty...I love you... I would bring the sun down for you to show you how much I care... "Misty, I think you should, like, hear this," Violet said. I've got this feeling that you're not going to stay...I've got this feeling that you're going to go away...Ash thought. Damn, why am I rhyming? "Fine, but make this snappy!" Misty said. "Gary, you don't mind, do you, baby?" "Of course not, babe," Gary replied, giving Misty a peck on the cheek. He got up and went inside the ice-cream parlor. I don't want to lose you now! Ash thought as he winced at the kiss. I know we can win this, Misty, just hold on...hear the story. "What?" Misty asked. "First you guys really want me to go on this "date". Now that I'm actually enjoying this, why are you guys interrupting?" Violet quickly told the story, except it came out all wrong. Her words were jumbled and as she was telling about her father's suicide, she couldn't go on. "I'm not understanding this," Misty told her sister. "I'm sorry, but I have to go now." "LILLY!" Daisy called for her sister. Lilly was no where to be found. "Where is she?" Daisy asked, fuming. "We really need her right now." Ash was looking at Misty with sad eyes. "Ash, you're making me uncomfortable," Misty said uneasily. "Please stop staring at me." "I'm sorry, Misty," Ash looked away. Misty got up. "Where's Gary? I thought he went inside the ice cream parlor!" Everyone looked. "There he is," Daisy said, pointing. "Like, oh my goodness, who is he WITH?" Everyone's eyes widened. "Like, oh my goodness..." Violet gasped. "Is that? No... I won't believe it!" "It's Lilly!" Misty said. "Lilly, what are you doing?" Lilly and Gary sauntered out. They gave each other a sweet embrace and a passionate kiss. "Like, I demand to know, what exactly is, like, going on!" Daisy screamed. "Like, what the hell is this?" Lilly glanced at her sisters with clouded eyes. "This, is like, forbidden love." "But that's disturbing!" Misty shouted at her sister. "You're almost six years older than him!" "Like, that's why it's forbidden, duh!" Lilly said. "When I was, like, little, I wasn't sent to Grandpa's! Like, Mother and Father thought that I would like, be a pokémon master. So like, they sent me to Professor Oak's. That's where I met Gary." "My god, Lilly," Violet said, still in shock. "You mean you guys, like, knew each other ever since you were seven or something?" "No!" Lilly answered. "We didn't even know each other until I was like, thirteen." "So you were using me somehow?" Misty screamed at Lilly. "Well, like, if you and Gary got together, like nobody would ever suspect US," Lilly explained her devious plan. "And like, Gary would make, like, Ash's life miserable." "Yah, you like that, Ash?" Gary made a face at Ash. "I ruin all your dreams. I have to be better than you! In fact, I am! I'm a better pokémon trainer, and I have the most beautiful girl." "You're, like, so sweet, Gary!" Lilly giggled, biting his nose. "Lilly, you're like, the disgrace to the family!" Violet realized. "You're like, sick!" Lilly tossed her pink head. "Well, actually, I'm not part of your family." "WHAT?" everyone screamed. Lilly proudly announced, "Now you know that your sister "Lilly" is actually a part of the elusive Team Rocket!" "What?" Daisy, Violet, and Misty screeched. Ash was just in plain shock. "I'm the daughter of Giovanni, the leader!" Lilly said. "My job is to torture people. You father adopted me when Giovanni abandoned me. But he soon found out what a good job I've been doing, torturing a little girl, he recruited me." "My god.." Daisy repeated. "But now that you know my secret identity, I supposed I can no longer be a Sensational Sister. That sure was a nice life. But now I'm going to serve Team Rocket from now on. Come on, baby." She and Gary walked off, hand in hand. "My god..." Daisy said again. "That was the most astonishing thing I have ever heard all day," Misty said. "Misty, like, we have even more shocking news for you," Violet gulped. She then began telling Misty the story more clearly now. Misty was in tears at the end. "Father committed SUICIDE?" "Yes, Misty," Violet wept. "And as the oldest," Daisy spoke up. "I think it's like, time to let you join the Sensational Sisters. You are pretty, Misty. We just, like, never said it." "This is such a privilege!" Misty shouted in delight. "You mean it?" "Yes," Daisy and Violet said at the same time. "Ash, did you hear that? I'm a Sensational Sister!" Misty squealed. Ash nodded but didn't say a word. ************ "Ash, where are you going?" Misty asked as she stood by the doorway. Ash was packing his backpack. Misty couldn't see the tears that clouded his eyes. Brock had left early that day to get a head start to a Breeding Center. Ash was to meet him there in a couple of days, but Ash decided to leave that moment. "Misty, I'm leaving," Ash told her. "Ash, why?" Misty asked. "You've finally found your place here in Cerulean," Ash replied. He slung his backpack over his shoulder. "As much as I'd love for you to continue my journey with me, I wouldn't want to put my happiness before yours." "What do you mean?" Misty asked, still bemused. Ash put his cap on and walked over to her. "Misty..." he whispered. He gave her a small kiss on the lips then left. "Hide in the closet..." was his last words. "Ash..." Misty whispered, touching her lips. "WAIT!" she screamed. She turned around to chase after him, but it was too late. "I LOVE YOU!" She started crying. "The closet..." she told herself. She went back upstairs and walked slowly to the closet. Her hand trembled as it went to open the closet. In it was a shiny red bicycle. ********** I lost her...Ash thought to himself, running with tears in his eyes. But she's happy now. I lost...to loneliness... ******************* END *******************
